Congrats, KVV, looking forward to seeing your work here! Always good to have more mediocre golfers on staff to understand a certain portion of the audience. :)

This just hit me a month later. NBC is heavily rumored to be picking up Sunday Night MLB rights for the time between NBA and NFL seasons. That could throw a wrench in any west coast prime time ideas for the years they have the playoff.

0 eggs? I beg to differ. I have played this course close to 100 times, and I have never gotten bored of it. The finishing holes, 15-18, really make you earn your score. There are two awesome short par 4s, 3 and 14. The par 3s are fantastic ... people talk a lot about 7, but 17 is the best when the pin is back right. You can go at the pin and put the bunker and the creek into play, or you can play left and risk a 3 putt. The greens are quick and challenging to read. I think it's one of the best public courses in Indianapolis. If you've never played the course and find yourself in Indianapolis, do not let the 0 egg score combined with the greens fee scare you away.

Enjoyed the course more than I thought I would. The "gimmick" of the racetrack works. Reallybfun to hear big engines roaring around while you play. Some solid holes too. 3, 4, 13 and 14 were my highlights. 13 hitting into grandstands with flags blowing was a cool shot. 18 was a nice finisher with the creek and barn.

That’s an awesome eye, Brian. And I agree about Preserve and Cradle. Cradle may be the gentlest of all.

I asked because I thought that either #11 at Shinnecock or #2 at Kingsley might be a good fit for the length and the land, but both are considered "short Par 5s". The first hole at The Cradle, The Preserve and The Hay are all pretty gentle. But now that I look at the map again, the backstop behind looks like it could fit #3 from Elie. Not really gentle at Elie, but could be adapted easily for a Par 3 course.
